It’s crazy to think three more weeks have passed, and I am now limited to only six short weeks in this beautiful country. It’s getting to be a bittersweet ending.
Just over two weeks ago my sister and her four wonderful friends were here to visit. It was so great to have a little touch of home here appreciating all that Ireland has to offer. During their visit we got to experience the Aran Islands, Galway City, and Doolin for a hike up to the Cliffs of Moher, before bringing them back to my house to experience the beauty of Limerick City. We spent four crazy days together before she continued her road trip around the remainder of the west coast, and I got ready for my big spring break plans. Just hours after our goodbyes, my lovely roommate and I headed to the airport to begin our trip to Paris, France.
Where to even start!? I have never experienced one city with so much character, culture, and art to offer ever before. I got to see things that really were a once in a life time experience. Things that included, the Mona Lisa, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame, Palace of Versailles, and of course the Eiffel Tower! It was most definitely a week to remember, and I was lucky enough to share it with my favorite travel buddy! I really couldn’t ask for a better person to travel around Europe with, and I am fortunate enough to call her my roommate. It was a week of jam packed days, miles of walking, and so much gelato, and I wouldn’t change it for the world. France let me experience just a little bit of culture shock. I really haven’t experience much while being in Ireland, but venturing out to a country where you don’t speak the native language reassured the difference in culture. We managed with just three simple phrases, ‘hello,’ ‘goodbye,’ ‘thank you,’ and a little bit of pointing in a direction. Over all, we managed! It was so incredible to be in city with so much history and beauty that lies beneath it. It was really an unforgettable experience that I will forever cherish.
But unfortunately, vacation is over and school has picked back up! Finals are approaching soon, and studying has now began. Luckily there is just enough time for a small break from studying to make the venture to Northern Ireland, to visit part of the U.K., this upcoming weekend. We are visiting Belfast, the city responsible for the construction of the Titanic. It will be another amazing opportunity to learn about the beautiful history all around us.
The stories don’t end quite yet!
